The Market Nursery Aims & Objectives

The Charity's objects are:

  • To provide a broad, balanced early days curriculum that considers children's rights and needs: health, education and protection, fostering independence and self esteem and one that meets the Early Learning Goals and a supportive frame work for children under five as laid down by the Department of Education;
  • To work in partnership with parents, recognising that the education of a child is a shared task involving positive contributions from parents/carers, children and education workers;
  • To ensure that children are learning to express their own feelings, to develop their skills of co-operation, respect, negotiations and problem solving;
  • To offer a secure, safe, welcoming environment which promotes stimulation and positive learning;
  • To treat children as individuals providing them with an environment and the opportunity to promote their race, culture, religion, sex, ethnic origin, colour and abilities;
  • To promote positive behaviour by praising and encouragement and being attentive to the needs of the children; To contribute strengthening the links between the community and the nursery.
