Nursery Facilities

The nursery consists of two age-banded groups: Teddy Bear Room ages from 2 to 3 years, The Pre-school group 3 years to 5 years.

 

The Teddy Bear Room

The Teddy Bear room has its own supplies and play equipment including sand, water, paint and home corner and a touch screen PC and is staffed by three nursery practitioners who operate a key worker system and uses Birth to Three matters as guideline line to plan for the children's learning and development.

The Pre-school group has three rooms covering the different areas of the curriculum, the Language Literacy and communication room, Creative Art room, and the Discovery. The pre-school rooms are staffed by three nursery practitioners.

 

The Language, Literacy & Communication Room

The Language, Literacy & communication room has a second a PC for the Pre -school children Room the room also has a wide selection of small and large books and story bags that reflect the different children's culture's, we provide a range of materials that give children the opportunity to develop their graphic skills. The room is equipped with musical instruments, tape recorders and story and musical tapes.
The nursery also provides a range of puzzles and puppets and games and a variety of writing equipment and aids such as stencils.

 

The Discovery Room

The Discovery Room is also equipped with a PC, nursery practitioners use the computers as a teaching aid with the children so children may begin to be confident with IT skills when they enter into formal education. We have a selection of children's CD ROM's that are educational as well as, fun IT activities are incorporated into their weekly timetables. In addition to this we have a range of role play materials, home corner and various resources that support children's learning in math, and knowledge & understanding of the world.

 

The Creative Art Room

The creative art room facilitates painting, sand, water, collage and cooking.


 

Out Door Facilities

The nursery garden is equipped with bikes, scooters, playhouse, carts and climbing frame and a sandpit. The children also have a sensory area in the garden where they grow herbs such as mint, rosemary, lavender and strawberries these are used for touch, taste and smell the children also use the above in cooking activities.
