Nursery Facilities

The nursery consists of two age-banded groups: Teddy Bear Room ages from 2 to 3 years, The Pre-school group 3 years to 5 years.

 

The Teddy Bear Room

The Teddy Bear room has its own supplies and play equipment including sand, water, paint and home corner and is staffed by three nursery practitioners who operate a key worker system and uses The Early Years Foundation Stage as a guideline line to plan for the children's learning and development.

 

 

The Pre-school room

The Pre-school room is an open planned area that is equipped to support the following areas of the curriculum (Personal, social and emotional, Physical, Knowledge and understanding of the world, communication, language and literacy, Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy and creative areas).

The Pre-school room also has an adjoining library with a wide selection of small and large books and story bags that reflect the different children's culture's.  This room is also equipped with CD players and musical instruments.

 

The Pre-school creative area

The creative area facilitates painting, sand, water and collage.

 

The Baby room

The Bunny's room is staffed with experienced qualified practitioners with a minimum level 3 recognised qualifications in childcare and education.

The "Bunny's room" is equipped with a range of resources to support childrens' growth and development.  The resources are accessible to encourage children to become independent and develop spontaneous, exploratory play.

The Bunny's room is furnished with suitable equipment for feeding, rest and play to comfort and support children's daily routine.  When children start nursery the key person will ask Parent/Carers about their preferred routines for their children.  This information will be recorded and contribute to children's daily care plan in the nursery setting.

 

Out Door Facilities

The nursery garden is equipped with bikes, scooters, playhouse, carts and climbing frame and a sandpit. The children also have a sensory area in the garden where they grow herbs such as mint, rosemary, lavender and strawberries these are used for touch, taste and smell the children also use the above in cooking activities.
